Project overview

Al Nasr Contracting appointed Super Arc Consultant (SAC) to carry out a seepage analysis for a proposed development in Jumeirah 2, Dubai.

Scope of work

Evaluation of groundwater movement on the site.

Assessment of seepage issues that could affect the foundations and structure.

A technical report with geotechnical recommendations, construction considerations and safety checks against groundwater-induced failure.

Value delivered

The design team had groundwater risks identified and checked before excavation started.

Engineering context

Excavating below the water table drives groundwater towards the dig, and strong upward flow can cause piping or heave at the base. A seepage analysis estimates these flows and pressures so that cut-off and dewatering measures can be considered at the design stage.
