Impact Analysis of Deep Foundations and Shoring for a Tower – Dubai

Project overview

The First Group appointed Super Arc Consultant (SAC) to analyse how the deep foundations and shoring of a tower in Dubai would affect the infrastructure around the site.

Scope of work

Analysis of the structural impact of the tower's deep foundations on neighbouring infrastructure.

Analysis of the impact of the shoring system on the surrounding area.

Value delivered

The analysis gave the client an engineering assessment of the risk to adjacent infrastructure before and during construction.

Engineering context

Deep excavation and foundation work change the stresses in the surrounding ground, and nearby roads, utilities and buildings can move as a result. An impact analysis estimates that movement so that protective measures and monitoring can be decided in good time.
