Project overview
An underground pipeline crosses an environmentally sensitive wadi in a coastal development area in Saudi Arabia. Super Arc Consultant (SAC) carried out a hydrogeological study of the crossing for AMAALA.
Scope of work
Assessment of the pipeline's effects on groundwater and surface water.
Comparison of future conditions with and without the pipeline.
Assessment of the risk of seawater intrusion.
Value delivered
The study gave the design and construction teams a basis for a crossing that meets environmental requirements.
Engineering context
A buried pipeline can change how groundwater moves, especially near a coast and in a sensitive wadi. Comparing conditions with and without the pipeline helps to show whether mitigation is needed.
