Project overview
Super Arc Consultant (SAC) carried out a geotechnical and hydrological study for the Al Shamkha Future School for MUSANADA, covering subsurface conditions, groundwater behaviour and lowering of the water table on site.
Scope of work
Drilling of boreholes.
Permeability tests.
A pumping test.
Geophysical surveys.
Groundwater level monitoring.
Value delivered
The pumping and permeability tests gave measured values for planning dewatering at the school site.
Engineering context
Dewatering design depends on how readily the ground transmits water. Pumping and permeability tests replace assumptions with site measurements, which helps in sizing the system and judging its effects.
