Project overview
Super Arc Consultant (SAC) carried out a hydrological and hydraulic flood assessment for an energy facility in Abu Dhabi.
Scope of work
Assessment of the catchment characteristics.
Rainfall-runoff analysis.
Hydrological and 2D hydraulic modelling to find maximum flood levels at the facility.
Value delivered
The results set the final grading levels and flood protection requirements for the facility.
Engineering context
Remote energy facilities can be exposed to infrequent but severe runoff. A 2D hydraulic model shows how water spreads across the ground, which supports decisions on site levels and protection.
