Bahij Investment commissioned Super Arc Consultant (SAC) for the geotechnical engineering design of the foundations of a wellness resort in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, part of a group of tourist resort projects.
Scope of work
Geotechnical analysis of the site.
Numerical 3D modelling and analysis.
An integrated foundation design for the building.
Value delivered
The foundation design was checked with 3D modelling of the ground and structure together, rather than relying on simplified hand methods alone.
Engineering context
Buildings in a resort group can have different layouts and loads, and the ground can vary between them. Each therefore needs its own foundation assessment, and modelling helps the designer compare how the structure and ground respond.
