Bahij Investment commissioned Super Arc Consultant (SAC) for the geotechnical engineering design of the foundations of a diving and visitors centre in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia.
Scope of work
Geotechnical analysis of the site.
Numerical 3D modelling and analysis of the foundations.
An integrated foundation design for the centre.
Value delivered
3D numerical modelling let the foundation design account for how the ground and structure behave together.
Engineering context
Coastal sites can combine variable ground with shallow groundwater. A 3D numerical model represents the soil layers and foundation geometry together, which helps the designer study how loads and settlement spread beneath the building.
