Bridge Foundation Protection Study – Dubai

Project overview

Super Arc Consultant (SAC) carried out a bridge foundation protection study beside a tower development in Dubai for The First Group.

Scope of work

Review and check of the permanent soldier pile wall design to AASHTO LRFD and Eurocode 7.

Review of monitoring reports, with statistical analysis of the readings.

Review of calibration certificates for monitoring and testing instruments.

Non-destructive testing of panels and steel, including UPV, half-cell, ultrasonic thickness and coating thickness measurements.

Site inspection and final engineering reports.

Value delivered

The study brought design checks, monitoring data and material testing together in one engineering record.

Engineering context

A retaining system used permanently must meet long-term strength, movement and durability requirements. Reading the design, monitoring trends and material tests together gives a fuller picture than any one of them alone.
