Project overview
The First Group engaged Super Arc Consultant (SAC) to find the root cause of recurring defects in the wet areas of apartments in a waterfront building in Dubai.
Scope of work
Inspection of affected apartments. The main defect was efflorescence, a crystalline salt deposit left by water intrusion, seen on several surfaces.
Investigation of why seepage kept returning in a number of apartments.
Value delivered
Finding the source of the water let the client stop treating the same defects again and again.
Engineering context
Recurring seepage usually means a repair has treated the surface while the water path remains active. Finding the source lets the owner direct the repair where it can last.
