Project overview
Super Arc Consultant (SAC) carried out a hydrological and hydraulic assessment for the Jebel Jais Alpine Coaster for the Government of Ras Al Khaimah. The aim was to understand how water moves across the mountain site and reduce the flood risk to the attraction.
Scope of work
Hydrological assessment of the site and its catchment.
Flood risk assessment.
Hydraulic design and drainage solutions.
Recommendations on managing water on the site over the long term.
Value delivered
The project team received a flood risk picture for a steep mountain site, with drainage and hydraulic measures to protect the coaster route.
Engineering context
Mountain catchments respond quickly to heavy rain, and steep ground can carry water and debris towards structures. Modelling these flows helps to place drainage and protection where they are needed most.
