Project overview

Super Arc Consultant (SAC) carried out geophysical investigations at a development site in Fujairah to locate possible buried pipelines before excavation.

Scope of work

Ground penetrating radar (GPR) scanning.

Radio frequency (RF) pipe and cable locating.

MASW and ERT surveys.

Data collection along target profiles across the site.

Value delivered

The survey gave a picture of what lies below the surface, so excavation and construction could be planned around buried services.

Engineering context

Each method sees something different. GPR detects shallow buried objects, RF locating traces pipes and cables, MASW uses surface waves to indicate ground stiffness, and ERT maps changes in electrical resistivity. Together they reduce reliance on any one result before excavation.
