Basement Structural Assessment – Roda Tower, Abu Dhabi

Project overview

Super Arc Consultant (SAC) assessed the structural integrity of the basements of Roda Tower in Abu Dhabi for Future Building Engineering.

Scope of work

Physical, mechanical and chemical testing of structural elements.

Identification of the causes of distress, including steel corrosion, concrete degradation and water leakage.

A remediation methodology.

Value delivered

The client and its contractors received a repair method based on test results for the existing structure.

Engineering context

Basements are exposed to moisture and aggressive groundwater, which can degrade concrete and corrode steel. Physical, mechanical and chemical tests provide the evidence needed to choose a suitable repair method.
