Super Arc Consultant (SAC) completed a road safety enhancement project in Abu Dhabi for Injaz National General Enterprises. Adjacent embankments and future developments posed a risk to an existing road.

Design of a retaining system to protect the road.

Implementation of the retaining system.

The road is protected against embankment instability next to it.

Engineering context

Embankment movement can affect the safety of an adjacent road long before major damage is visible. A retaining system needs to suit the soil, the height retained and any future loads.
