Project overview
Super Arc Engineering Construction (SAEC) installed bored piles for high-voltage transmission line foundations in the Al Dhafra Region.
Scope of work
Drilling of bored piles in several diameters and depths.
Fabrication and installation of steel reinforcement for the pile foundations.
Value delivered
The transmission line towers were given pile foundations sized to the loads and ground at each location.
Engineering context
Transmission towers are tall, relatively light structures, so wind can produce uplift and overturning forces in their foundations as well as compression. Bored piles can resist these combined loads, and their diameter and depth can be varied to suit each tower location.
